SIR - As two Palestinian factions fight to the death for control of Palestine, the EU breaks an embargo on aid (agreed by the UN, the EU, Russia and the US) by giving £3 million to the Hamas minister of finance to help to ensure the proper use of Palestinian taxpayers' money.

Given Hamas is prescribed as a terrorist organisation, the most likely use of the money is to fund weapons for its soldiers.

Frankly, giving help in this way is not a proper use of my taxes and the EU would be better advised to use my money to investigate why its own accounts have not been approved by the auditors for the last 11 years. It seems it can't even properly use my taxes, let alone butt in elsewhere.
