SIR - Michael Foster MP has some cheek to write in your paper of leading "the fight against extreme poverty and injustice" and "when politicians really listen" (Worcester News, June 7).
Britain illegally invaded Iraq and helped set in motion a war that may have claimed the lives of a million innocent Iraqi civilians as well as thousands of coalition soldiers.
When has Michael Foster really listened to people in Worcester who oppose the extreme injustice in Iraq?
Yes, he attended one Worcester Stop The War meeting, but he could not help himself repeating the usual New Labour stuff about spreading democracy and freedom, when, in fact, we are part of an effort to secure the second largest reserves of oil in the world.
That's not fighting injustice - that's imperialism.
