Sir – Worcester BID is an organisation purporting to support city centre businesses and to help promote tourism into the Faithful City. Why have they had to go to a Derbyshire nursery to outsource the city centre flower displays?
There are a number of garden centres surrounding the city, Webbs, Wyevale, Laylocks, St. Peters, David’s Nurseries to name but a few. Weren’t they up to the job? How about our very own Parks Department who plant and nurture splendid displays in places like award-winning Gheluvelt Park? Not only that, it’s the Derbyshire nursery who are also nurturing the planters. Hopefully it’s a local that’s been given the job.
One of BID’s regular campaigns is Uniquely Worcester, where visitors are encouraged to support local businesses. Shame on them for not supporting their own campaign!
