SIR - Regarding the issue of illegal parking outside St George's CE Primary School (Worcester News, May 30), I would like to comment on the fact that this selfishness is not exclusive to parents doing the school run.
I live in St John's, Worcester, and have to drive through the Saturday night take-away run.
This usually consists of about eight cars parked on the pavement.
While this allows 4X4 drivers to get some practice driving off-road, they have no regard for other drivers and happily open their doors into oncoming traffic, run across the road or pull out in front of other drivers.
The alternative would be for them to use one of the public car parks about 100 metres away.
Someone is inevitably going to get hurt. Would it be too much to ask for the introduction of double red lines or to ask the police to have a look at the situation?
