SIR - While I whole heartedly support any endeavour to save the Foregate Street post office, the Tory councillors currently collecting signatures to that end would do well to remember that the privatisation of the postal services is a Tory policy that has been adopted by New Labour.
In my personal opinion, the nation needs a party dedicated to a genuine policy of total re-nationalisation without compensation via referendum. The will of the people, not the will of the boardroom - any takers?
