SIR - Just a thought. We seem to have a problem with shopping trolleys being dumped all over the place.
How do we stop this practice? Well, if I went into Tesco or Sainsbury's (they appear to be the main offenders) and helped myself to, say, a bottle of brandy and then left the store without paying, I'm sure they would prosecute me for theft.
Then why, I ask, has to my knowledge no one been bought to book for what amounts to theft of these trolleys? Can anyone enlighten me?
