SIR - In response to John Phillpott's musings on the lack of buskers in Worcester (Seven Days, May 19) I can confirm that I am one of the endangered species still remaining.
In the traditional spirit of busking, I sing and play the guitar and harmonica without amplification, so I favour the quiet, narrow streets of Pershore or Droitwich where my songs can be heard more clearly.
However, I do play Worcester about once a month and always get a good reception from the shoppers who, even if they don't like my songs, are cheered by my wayward choice of hats.
I would be delighted to serenade John in the High Street one Saturday - as a one time member of local supergroup the George Cowley Experience I could play him one of their songs as I know he is particularly fond of their material.
Paul J Rose, Claines, Worcester.
