SIR - In disagreeing with Chris Moncrieff's view of the local election results, Peter Luff has once again donned his rose-tinted spectacles (Worcester News, May 17).
True, the Tories made advances in places but they certainly did not make the impression that they ought to have done.
Within worcester, he carefully ignored the detail that while 9,249 people did vote Tory, more than over 12,000 did not!
He also omitted to mention that the incompetence of his local party resulted in a two figure Labour majority in Arboretum being increased to three figures - hardly a spectacular Tory result.
Perhaps he would advance the Tory cause more successfully if he backed his leader in opposing fortnightly rubbish collections and sought a change of policy from the Guildhall.
