SIR - I think it is high time Worcester City Council did something about the current bin situation. As the warmer weather is approaching, the bins are really beginning to smell.

It is not the residents' fault that the council is only able to recycle 50 per cent of recyclable products - leaving people trying to accommodate two weeks' rubbish and the other half of their fortnightly recyclable materials.

It is an absolute joke! Therefore, would it be possible for the university that tested bins recently to provide a swab so that we can test our own bins and back up our complaints?

Secondly, can all the people who are unhappy with the bin service please make an official complaint to the council, as it says it has not had enough complaints to warrant any action.

Perhaps everyone who has or does make a complaint should let the Worcester News know so we can monitor the number of complaints made as it is possible that the council could be telling a little white lie about the level of complaints.

Don't just talk about complaining - do it!

Mrs P Mair, Worcester.
