SIR - I recently spent two weeks on holiday near Worcester and visited the town several times during our stay (at Hanley Swan).

My wife is in a wheelchair and we were delighted to find a whole section of the CrownGate shopping centre car park reserved for disabled drivers. How frustrating to find, then, that on three occasions we were not able to park there because the spaces were occupied by cars not displaying the blue badge.

On one occasion there were 12 cars not displaying a badge - three of them had child seats and five of them were great 4x4s which no disabled person could climb into! There were also two sports cars.

Is this a regular occurrence? What sanctions can be brought against those who selfishly park in this area?
