SIR - I think that it's diabolical that the council is considering helping to finance CCTV to be put in taxis.
The money the drivers lost through going on strike on a Saturday night, leaving hundreds of people stranded, would have paid for them to buy the equipment themselves.
It's their choice to do the job - if they are not satisfied then find another job. I wonder if the council would put CCTV in my house, as I am a pensioner with very little money, not earning hundreds of pounds a week.
As I stated at the start of my letter - it's diabolical.
