SIR - Regarding the university playingfields in Evendine Close, Battenhall, Worcester.

I have received at my home a very neat, colourful leaflet from the University of Worcester called Battenhall News explaining the delights of sports and so on that they are planning to provide in this area.

In the leaflet it says, all University of Worcester visiting sports teams will access the site from the existing bus drop-off and pick-up lay-by on Bath Road, but it does not tell us where the local sports clubs and groups are to access the site.

While agreeing with the university that this could be a great chance for local sports enthusiasts, it could also be hell to local people if the site is not managed properly.

I was very surprised to hear that St Mary's Convent School has sent letters to their parents extolling the virtues of all the new sports facilities the university is to offer, which will be available to their daughters.

Why hasn't the university been open with the residents and neighbours and told them what is really going on and played a fair, clean and open game?
