SIR - Your editorial (May 3) suggested that we should vote in local elections. You reminded us that councils preside over large budgets and claim we should vote in order to have some influence over how that money is spent.
But however large the budget is, the councillors don't have much say in how the money is spent, there's still not a lot of point in voting.
