SIR - I was stationed in the canal zone of Egypt during the troubles in the 1950s and since my retirement I have organised a return back there every September.
Our next group will again visit Cairo, Fayid, Ismailia, Moascar, Tel-el-Kebir staying at a hotel overlooking the Great Bitter Lakes in the Egyptian Military Zone.
Many of the service people from the 1950s came from your circulation area and if any of your readers would like full details of joining our organisation's next visit, would they please write to me at the address below.
We will be staying the first two nights in Cairo visiting the Pyramids, Sphinx and the Egyptian museum to see the treasures of the boy king Tutankhamun.
The group then stays at the hotel for eight days near Fayid's Great Bitter Lakes before returning for one more night in Cairo, a total of 12 days. We visit the cemeteries of Fayid, Moascar, Tel-El-Kebir and Ismailia.
