SIR - Worcester is the Faithful City my foot! For so long as I can remember it has been customary for the Guildhall gates to be appropriately festooned on Oak Apple Day and it was not until reading John Phillpott's article (Seven Days, April 13) that I realised this tradition had been discontinued.
Those councillors and officials who allowed this tradition to lapse should be publicly whipped with a bunch of stinging nettles and have their bottoms pinched.
