SIR - I am left disgusted at the huge amount of McDonald's take-away discarded food containers, drink containers and carriers being left scattered about on the car parks around the Blackpole Road site.
When I mentioned this to another local tradesperson, they replied this was a regular occurrence and normally cleared up in the mornings.
Surely this gives the rats and any other vermin access overnight to readily available food.
If the owners of the McDonald's franchise were to act in a responsible way on this issue, they should see that at the close of business the car parks around their business premises were tidied up, or they should be required under a public health order to cease the take-away service after 8pm.
