SIR - Unlike Mr Ryder (Letters, March 28), I am very sad the Sainsbury's store I have worked in for the last 25 years has been forced to close because the rent is going up by 20 times what it is now.
Ask yourself why? Who else would move in there and pay that rent? Who will look after the pensioners? One man who comes in is 96 and I always check and make sure he has all the items he has put down on his shopping list.
I will miss him and the rest of the customers who have used this store for years, as well as all the people I have worked with.
All the best to them all.
MRS E CLAY, Worcester.
