SIR - I haven't read anything in the letters page concerning the demise of Worcester Rugby Football Club and the stewardship of John Brain.
Maybe people think that they would break eggs, but all of the supporters and friends I know talk incessantly about the subject.
There is not a single view in support of Mr Brain's tenure, nor has there been for a long time now. We have won two of the 16 games this year and five of the 29 since December 2005 - not good enough. That performance threatens to bring down all that has been constructed in the last few years.
John Brain deserves great credit for bringing Premiership Rugby to Sixways, but surely it is plain for all to see that he does not have the acumen to build and be successful in the top league.
The club doesn't seem to attract decent players to perform at Worcester, although whether that is Mr Brain's charisma at fault or the owner's recent player investment performance is uncertain. There is player transfer activity happening regularly at other clubs but, while there has been the odd incoming player at Worcester, none of them are inspiring top names who could make substantial difference.
How many of the Warriors squad would be first choice in successful competitor's sides? Not so many. Having seen Gomersall leave Worcester and find success at Harlequins, I read with dismay that Richard Blaze is to join Tigers. It must be obvious that there is a loss of faith.
I do hope Mr Duckworth is taking good advice on his succession planning - John Brain has to be replaced whether the Warriors stay up or go down. There are good candidates such as Ruddock, Johnson and, yes, Robinson. The money such appointment might cost must be less than the negative outcome that National One will produce.
So come on Cecil, get on with it - there are 10,000 regular supporters waiting anxiously for positive news that will inspire hope for the future.
Michael Partridge, Shrawley.
