SIR - One of the internal directives from UKIP leader Nigel Farage was that MEP's were not to employ their wives as assistants. This was seemingly based on his example where his wife helped 'voluntarily'.
But it recently emerged that Mr Farage has been paying his wife out of EU expenses along with his 'close' associate Annabelle Fuller. This has been brought into question by a former UKIP MEP who questioned Mr Farage in the European Parliament about payments to which Mr Farage refused to reply. After a little thinking time Mr Farage more recently admitted that he had changed the rules because he now had more work to do.
This is the latest example in how UKIP is making up the rules as it goes along. Even the rules about the selection of MEP's were recently changed and this so concerned West Midlands MEP, Mike Nattrass, hat he left UKIP and formed "An Independence From Europe" and will contest all the English seats in the forthcoming European Elections.

Chairman, An Independence from Europe, South West
