SIR – Your recent piece in The Source, claiming that I had “inexplicably” failed to provide planning committee members with their traditional Christmas refreshments, was not quite accurate.
I did in fact continue the festive tradition during the adjournment.
On a more serious note, the December meeting marked the conclusion of a busy year, which saw the committee dealing with major developments such as Sheriff’s Gate and the former Porcelain Works, helping to shape the future of the city, while ensuring that Worcester’s unique heritage is sensitively conserved.
I am grateful to committee members and officers for their support since I took over the chairmanship, and I look forward to a successful 2014.
DAVID WILKINSON
Chairman,
Worcester City Council planning committee
