SIR – It can’t be easy for Warriors coach Dean Ryan, and whichever player is wheeled out each week to give their thoughts to the press after another defeat, to talk constructively about their plight.
But most supporters aren’t fools and we don’t want to be patronised. When I hear that the players “are really up for the next game” or “will put their bodies on the line” or that “everyone is working hard” I think that as Worcester are in the elite league, that should all be a given.
Dean is quoted on the Warriors website after the Sarries game saying that “we are in the best place we could be to face the challenges of the new year”
This can’t go unchallenged given that Worcester have lost their last 15 league games. And while Dean congratulates his team for not conceding in the second half against Sarries (when the game was already lost), I would rather know why we conceded four tries in the first 30 minutes. More realism from Sixways please.
