SIR - Surely the city of Worcester and Worcester City Council are not one and the same entity.
So does the council - a small group of individuals apparently concerned more with self image than listening to and sorting the citizens of the city of Worcester - have the right to purloin the coat of arms and especially the citation "Civitas in Bello et Pace fidelis" (City faithful in war and peace) awarded to the city.
Perhaps the city council should reflect upon its arrogance. There was a time when many were proud to be a citizen of the city of Worcester but that has regrettable gone.
Few have respect for the city council as such and certainly these proposals will do less than nothing to retrieve the situation.
Indeed it will be greeted with the same amount of derision as the city council accords residents' views.
DAVID TURNER, Worcester.
