SIR - Regarding the proposed recycling facility at Norton.
Surely, if vehicular access is prevented from Norton Lane, improvements to the main road junction implemented and due regard made to environmental concerns, there shouldn't be any major problems - after all this has been a large industrial site for decades.
Also, there would be a greatly reduced impact on the local area if we were to cease processing all Herefordshire's waste. Why is this still occurring?
I seem to remember that some time ago the good people of Hereford rejected plans for the construction of their own recycling plant and to continue using our facilities. Should Worcestershire still be burdened with the results of our neighbour's selfish attitude?
The environmental and financial costs generated by the hundreds of extra lorry movements across the two counties each month are totally unjustified and unsustainable.
N Winter, Worcester.
