SIR – Tarik Al Rasheed’s report of Bovis Homes’ planning application for 45 houses near to the Crown at Powick is a typical example of a developer’s greed to make money without considering the consequences.
Malvern Hills District Council has already rejected the plan, but the developer is now moving headlong into an appeal to get the ruling overturned.
Local people have fought the plan every step of the way and as well as forming a residents’ group have even launched a “fighting fund”
which raised nearly £10,000 in just over two weeks.
The village school is already full to capacity and there are no shops within walking distance.
Who in their right mind would approve this application which would result in 80 more cars a day coming out onto the A449 at a traffic light that only holds for one minute at best.
Worcester’s problems are paradise in comparison!
