SIR – I refer to Emily Hall’s ‘Fair Point’ in the issue of October 23.

Having listed a number of things she might do on a Sunday, including lying in bed till early afternoon, I find it bitterly disappointing that she clearly does not even consider going to church.

She goes on to thank God for something from which she gained benefit, but seems not to appreciate that this God, to which she refers, suggested that there are six days in which one should labour but the seventh is for rest.

So please don’t get cross if the pace of life on a Sunday is less than the other six.

Perhaps she might consider church rather than bed for a Sunday morning activity and ‘Slow down M’am, slow down’.
