SIR – I would like to congratulate Councillor Alan Amos on his magnificent achievement in securing the finance for a pedestrian crossing in Warndon’s busy Windermere Drive.
I tried for four years to raise the cash. An elderly couple were both knocked down by a car at that spot.
A young male driver hit a boy on his way to his GCSE exams,seriously injuring him. Finally, a young lady was killed crossing this dangerous stretch of road.
At last Alan has singlehandedly secured a safe crossing.
I’m sure I join the Warndon residents in gratitude for the improved safety for young and old.Well done Alan !
