SIR – I see the council wants to get rid of more people to save lots of money, but it’s the people at the top who make the decisions and they are always still there themselves.
So if the council wants to save real money, take the 12 top salary earners and get rid of them and don’t promote anyone else to the silly salaries and massive pension pots they’ve managed to amass for themselves. It is they who have mismanaged the council funds. They haven’t balanced the books in years, they’ve overspent and asked for more council tax .
