SIR – Concessions for hospital parking would appear to vary considerably in different parts of the country.
I mentioned some time ago that with a disabled badge one could park free on the seafront at Eastbourne for 24 hours a day.
Recently I visited my brother in hospital at Hastings (also in East Sussex), where with a blue badge one could park free for three hours. Not only that but I noticed that exemptions apply to patients attending cancer/oncology clinics and their relatives (national Macmillan guidelines) and Liverpool Pathway relatives (bereavement).
More information about concessions or the parking system could be obtained from the parking office.
It would be nice if there could be a little more compassion shown to often stressed visitors at hospitals in Worcestershire.
