SIR – Tarik Al Rasheed’s article (Worcester News, October 1) reporting on public health data which reveals that one in three children in Worcester suffers tooth decay by the age of five is alarming, though not too surprising.
When I was that age, in the war, sweets were rationed and one was lucky to have much pocket money anyway.
So in hindsight I count myself lucky to have retained most of my molars well into retirement.
