SIR – Please thank George Cowley for bringing back such painful memories with a lack of thought for anyone.
My wonderful uncle was a hardworking farmer who also ran a post office in South Littleton.
He died of lung cancer but was never a smoker. It was heartbreaking. George should think before he speaks.
I would imagine that this devastating disease could be caused by an industrial or similar environment.
