SIR – I have just read the Worcester News article regarding proposed cuts including grass cutting etc.
Some cuts have already been made but as far as I know, not announced publicly.
I live in a road in St John’s where we have communal refuse bins. Two days ago a resident went to place a bag in a bin to be shocked to find a rat jumping at him. Luckily he slammed the lid shut quickly and did not get bitten. However, on phoning the Worcestershire Hub, my wife was told there is NO pest control in Worcester!
So the rats are left to breed, or we as residents would have to pay someone to get rid of this disease spreading and potentially dangerous rodent. Did the council take into account the dangers involved in such cuts?
