SIR – One of the historic buildings in Worcester will be turned into offices (Worcester News, August 27).

The building stands in Silver Street. As we older people know from our parents, the old Majestic Wine Warehouse at 18-20 Silver Street was once an infirmary.

It was also a school, a factory and much more.

Why don’t the public ever get involved with what is happening in a historic old building in Worcester.

I disagree with councillors Geoff Williams and Andy Roberts.

This building has got a soul, it’s not a sick old building.

Why offices? We have lots of offices in Worcester so it’s such a shame to turn this building into more.

Why not a small museum for Worcester people and visitors to enjoy?

They could start by finding the building’s proper age.

They could find a lot of artefacts and put up notice boards to tell people about the place. Charge a small fee to go in. It would be great for Worcester.

Much better than offices and it will keep its character.

Also the car park outside would encourage people to shop in Lowesmoor.

Come on, let’s think about this again.
