SIR – The privatising of electricity, gas, water and the railways didn’t see services improve.

Prices haven’t reduced, accountability wasn’t increased and ‘choice’ does not make life easier for the ordinary punter.

It is appalling that services which we all own are flogged to us, with no thought for the long-term effects.

Selling the Royal Mail will only benefit the Tories’ bigbusiness backers.

How long before less profitable rural delivery rounds are reduced?

Saturday delivery cancelled?

Post collection made earlier and post delivery made later?

Can a service with royal in its name really be privately owned? Whose head will appear on the stamps?

Haven’t the Tories learned?

No good will come of this.
