SIR – When is this country going to stop being a poodle following the USA’s lead?

For 250 years we ruled the roost, but we cannot do it these days.

The so-called Great Britain that ruled the world is dead and gone, so let’s concentrate on our national interests and make our country great without being a great power.

What gives us the right, especially as we are not a great economic power, to interfere in other countries’ problems?

On the other hand, we can make, design and produce good ideas, etc.

We need to sell these products to places that now have money to spend such as China, Russia, India, Pakistan and some South American countries.

We need to go for a new industrial revolution to make us a great country without being a great power.
