SIR – The Green Party has a ‘three yes’ approach to the EU.

‘Yes’ to a referendum on EU membership, ‘yes’ to major reforms of the EU, and ‘yes’ to staying in.

No one under the age of 55 has had an opportunity to vote on our relationship with Europe, and the Green Party believes in democracy.

But we need that second ‘yes’ – major reforms to the EU.

Currently, Euro MPs shuttle between Brussels and Strasbourg.

If we had a single seat for the EU Parliament, we’d save 1.4 billion euros over seven years.

We want a Europe that has guaranteed decent workers’ rights, environmental standards and consumer protections.

We need a Europe that clamps down on the lobbying power of big business.

And we want to strengthen democracy in the EU, giving more power to the EU Parliament.

On democracy, if I was elected as one of your seven Euro MPs for the West Midlands (can you name any of them?), I promise to hold surgeries in Worcestershire and have regional case workers to help with any of your enquiries.
