SIR – The proposed ‘super village’ filling the gap between Broadheath and Dines Green (Worcester News, September 3) will obviously put yet more pressure on the existing southern link and cross town routes as 800 families battle their way to work and back. Talk of routing some of the traffic down Oldbury Road is meaningless as it will only send the traffic onto the already jammed Hylton Road. Such a development has the potential for a developer-funded next link of the ring road, or otherwise be the full stop at the end of the current half ring road – killing the ring road once and for all.
If we really have to build all these houses and commercial units, the first option would be the only acceptable one as it at least keeps open the option of completing the ring road at some point in the future.
