SIR – I would like to publicly thank all those musicians, educationalists and media who have supported the formation of the Film Orchestra.

Worcester film composer Hilgrove Kenrick not only compered the debut concert at the Swan but also roused support for the project from colleagues in the Californian film industry.

The Elgar School of Music allowed meetings and interviews to be conducted on their premises.

Chris Jaegar [chief executive of Worcester Live] invited us to make our debut at the Worcester Festival.

Members of the English Symphony Orchestra gave their time and talent.

The BBC, Choice Radio and the Worcester News have also been key in helping to get this exciting project started.

Many orchestra players and friends have given their time for free but most of all the man responsible for taking this idea seriously in the first place, Peter Sheeran, has taken an idea and made it reality.

This is a project made in Worcester which is already reaching far beyond its geographical boundaries.

The Film Orchestra not only put on stage professional beside aspiring amateur, teacher alongside student, mother alongside daughter, it brought in new people of all ages to listen to an orchestral concert. We are indeed building for the future.
