SIR – David Cameron has been dealt another humbling defeat by members of his own party over his plans to bomb Syria.
Once again he showed himself out of touch with his own people – but what did he expect?
He seems hellbent on sending British troops to all trouble stops in the world.
Would he be so keen if it meant his children going?
What happened in Syria is appalling, but we are not the world’s policemen having to go in and restore order at the cost of wasted lives, horrific injuries and massive expense to the taxpayer.
And what of the UN and other EU countries? Why only us and France?
Countries from the EU want us to be one big happy family when it comes to jobs and free movement, yet as soon as trouble flares up they sit by and do nothing to help with their troops.
This problem has nothing whatsoever to do with us.
If our leaders want to do something, put pressure on other Middle Eastern countries to sort it out.
As for our EU allies, well, what a total waste of time.
