SIR – To build a new GP surgery and have no bus links to it seems a bit crazy (Worcester News, August 21). As most people going to the new surgery are likely to be old and infirm and need all the help they can get, Councillor Richard Udall is right in wanting to know the reasons for an inadequate bus service.
It seems to me Coun John Smith and the cabinet members for highways are letting the tail wag the dog.
They should tell the bus company what they want and if they can’t do it get another company in.
It appears the present company is allowed to cherry-pick what they want.
Their fares are far too high which deters people using buses.
It says any extension to a journey must be fully funded and clearly must not disadvantage current bus passengers.
What a hoot.
There was no consideration for the passengers when they took the evening buses away and is the park and ride from Perdiswell fully funded? Somehow I doubt it.
