SIR – On Friday, August 2, I had a heart attack.
The first responder was at my house within four minutes of the 999 call followed three minutes later by an ambulance.
When these crews were happy that I needed urgent specialist attention, we left for Worcestershire Royal Hospital at 7.50am.
During the journey one of the crew rang ahead and assured me that I was expected.
Upon arrival, I was taken straight into theatre where there was a team suitably attired ready to go and I had a stent fitted.
During all of this I was being informed as to what was going on.
At 8.40am I was in a Laurel 1 ward, cleaned up and made comfortable.
The attention I received from then until my discharge was absolutely above and beyond, especially the nursing staff.
Thank you all so very much.
So, if you need to complain about the NHS, get the Government to get its act together and don’t blame the staff because they are magnificent.
