SIR – Re the comments by Councillor Andy Roberts in the story ‘Welcome to your parish of Trotshill’ (Worcester News, August 17).

I’m sure many Warndon Villages residents would welcome the name change to Trotshill as having two Warndons has always been confusing.

The so-called Villages is a farcical name anyway.

It’s a small bustling transient commuter town containing many lovely homes, woods, walks and amenities.

My area has no village environment whatsoever, and despite living here 21 years, I only know a handful of people.

Most of my friends and contacts are from other areas of the city and beyond in the real villages.

I really do think the town planners and architects must have been utterly at a loss for names when they named Warndon Villages, which, I believe, needs a ballot to decide the new name. However, from today, I live in Trotshill. Very pleasant it is too.
