SIR – Thank you, Worcester News, for reporting the funniest story I have read for a long time.
I absolutely burst out laughing.
I refer to the report on August 7 of Mid-Worcestershire’s Young Conservatives trying to recruit new members via an “active calendar of quizzes, bar crawls, barbecues and other political events”.
Now bar crawls and other political events don’t exactly go together and shows the level of their understanding of the major political concerns of the day.
For example, the number of people using the food bank in Evesham, which is in the heart of the Mid-Worcestershire constituency, is on course to double within the year.
So what are the Young Conservatives doing to help with problems such as this and others caused by the actions of their Government?
Well, for one, we know they will be having pub crawls (sorry bar crawls) around the social issues of the day.
No wonder the Conservative Party is rapidly losing members.
