SIR – I have always assumed it was a left over from two world wars that piston engine propeller-driven plans had no silencers.
Why were they missed out in the Noise Abatement Act when ice-cream chimes were fiercely debated?
Now we have hooray henrys cavorting about, allegedly practising, with immunity.
Legislation should be introduced to fit silencers to these irritant machines.
F1 uses materials light and tough which will cater for this.
Will Mid-Worcestershire MP [Peter] Luff enter the ballot for an amendment to the Act? Somehow I doubt it.
