SIR – Here is another factor which does not improve the seagull problem in the city.

I could not help but notice the other day that businesses in the city are still having to use plastic bags for their refuse.

I noticed because most of the contents were over the pavement and several seagulls were happily pecking bags open.

This inappropriate method of rubbish collection cannot be ideal and should be improved.

One further point. We now have fresh batches of gulls that have hatched so I would suggest that the previous Faberge method was not successful?

I would like to see some action taken by the council if they are serious about this issue.
