SIR – The health service belongs to the people.

When you get politicians trying to reorganise the NHS it usually ends up costing the service a lot of money and only making things worse.

It’s also wrong for politicians to strip bits off and privatise them.

The money the public puts into the health service is to look after the sick and people who need care for other ailments, such as mental health.

It’s so wrong for these people to take money out of the health service.

The way things are going the health service needs more money and I feel that the public would be prepared to pay more.

But not if it’s given to companies who know nothing about healthcare and are in it just for the money.

It’s wrong for politicians to give contracts to such firms.

It should be kept inhouse and left with people who know what they are doing.
