SIR – Over my lifetime I have heard many complaints about younger drivers, yet no one seems to acknowledge the faults of the older male driver of which the majority unfortunately are incredibly rude and dangerously overconfident.
Just the other day a man in a white Land Rover decided to change lanes without indicating and apparently without looking, almost hitting my car.
After beeping to let him know I was there he decided to do an emergency stop in the middle of the lane until the lights had almost turned red and sped off. This is unacceptable.
It is also seemingly impossible for many drivers to say “thank you” when someone has pulled in and let you go by on a busy road or let you go first.
Manners cost nothing and people, especially older men, should be able to use them.
