SIR – Your front page story about shortage of NHS beds (Worcester News, April 22) confirms my experience.
A relative fell ill last year while on holiday in Wales.
He had a serious pre-existing condition and yet it took three-and-a-half weeks for a bed to be found for him in Worcestershire.
The point is our elected representatives could do something about this.
The county council could have called in the NHS Trust proposals for scrutiny but they did not.
They could have organised and led petitioning but they did not.Instead of standing up for us they stand by.
This is one of the reasons Trade Unionists and Socialists Against Cuts candidates have highlighted the NHS. We need political representatives for the working class who stand up for us, not just stand by as our services are cut.
