SIR – Re Tom Guest’s selection of comments on Friday rugby games ‘Warriors fans are divided over Friday night games’ (Worcester News, April 10).
It seems to me that although Sixways is second to none in the country for facilities – if not on the field of play at present – they, like all clubs, have to watch the profit and loss account to survive.
Floodlit matches bring in revenue but at the expense of families, away fans and non-car owners.
Saturday afternoons suit people who work all week and the traditionalists.
Neither option will please everyone,so why not have a 50-50 fixture list so that both types of supporters can be catered for?
Fan Richard Cook (Worcester News, April 10) rightly said: ”What about the next generation of fans as evening games don’t encourage families.”
