SIR – Once again this country is humiliated under the Tory party.
On the same day two rulings symbolise this nation’s surrender to extremism.
Home secretary Theresa May (the one member of this Government attempting to change the law) loses her battle to kick out hate cleric Abu Qatada – because however much a threat to public safety, appeal judges insist his human rights must come before public safety.
And police refuse to act against preacher Anjem Choudary, who ordered his followers to live off benefits and called for the PM to be killed – amazing, this when in the past shopkeepers have been threatened with court action for putting golliwogs in their shop windows.
Why is this Government running scared of people like this?
Because they are terrified of upsetting the human rights act – which Labour signed us up to.
David Cameron has promised big words on putting this madness right – yet he has achieved nothing apart from talking a load of old waffle.
We need politicians who will confront this madness and restore sanity to our country.
