SIR – The recent planning proposals to control houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) were, I considered, the commencement of the quarterly ‘It’s time to knock the university and students again’ (the town and gown divide brigade).
Then the penny dropped. It was the Easter weekend when the city council polling papers were dropping through the letter box for election of councillors, some of whom are already on the planning committee.
This way of campaigning for votes will not work with me.
I will not be one of the sheep and be manipulated by this disgraceful conduct of social engineering and cleansing.
